Rak from Sheila

A while back, I received a beautiful card from Sheila, the MIL of one of my UIW ladies, Heather. Unfortunately, I forgot to upload it, but that is now fixed.

Before I show you the card, there is a little story behind it. . .

Each week at classes, all the ladies (including me) indulge in a little show and tell, and share our recent creations with the rest of the group. My ladies are a wonderfully talented group, and I wish I had photos of more of their creations to share with you, because they really are fantastic. Their specialities vary within the group and include things like: Pergamano (sp?), Iris folding, tea bag folding, stamping, stickers, pin pricking and the list goes on. (If I have missed one of your specialities ladies, please please let me know!!).

Now, Sheila only comes to the classes I hold in the holidays (sadly, none this term, as I am going to be away for both Mondays in the holidays - more on that in another post). Now, even in the holiday UIW group, we have show and tell. Sheila makes the most beautiful cards using sewing techniques. One particular day, she showed me some absolutely lovely cards and I am afraid I raved a bit about them (they really were so lovely!!).

Anyway, a few weeks later, I received one of those beautiful cards from Sheila. I was so shocked and blown away, because it was my favourite one out of the cards she showed me that day.

And here it is:

Isn't it just sooooo cute!!! This is a pin-pricking technique. From what I can see, you draw and colour in an image, then use matching threads to create the spirelli effect. I just love the little field mouse ont he wheat stalk.

Thank you so much for this beautiful card Sheila!!!!!

I've been RAKed!!

Hello everyone!!
I had to pop this on here today!!

Today I was the lucky recipient of a cute little RAK (Random Act of Kindness) from my friend Jenni. I love getting presents for no reason. I popped over to her house and here was this cute little gift waiting for me!

Photobucket

Isn't he gorgeous!! Love the pink mug.

Jenni gave one of these to our friend Jo too, and she called her cat Kittycat Jack (after my Kittycat Jack). I think my kitty looks like a girl, so I am going to call her Cleo, after a black cat I used to own many many years ago.

Ciao for now,

Another card from stamp camp (a Michelle Zindorf inspired creation)

Howdy again!!

Here is another creation from stamp camp. I love Michelle Zindorf's brayer technique and wanted to have another go with my owl stamp. I was inspire by this card. I didn't turn it into an actual card, but have RAKed it to a friend who loves owls (RAK = Random Act of Kindness). Hope she likes it.

stamp is from Inkadinkadoo Clear stamps. The inks are Stampin' Up! (sorry can't remember all the colours - I used so many lol).

Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy the rest of your day/evening.

Rak for Vanilla

Good morning Bloggers!!

Today I am typing this to the sound of hammers and banging noises - our garage roof is being replaced at last after the hail storm in December. The weather has fined up enough and for long enough that the workman can get it done. Just wish they had chosen to fix our skylights first cos I am soooo sick of the dark house. Oh well, I a guess I should be grateful they are doing something lol.

So, to the main reason for this entry today. . . .

Here is a photo of a little rak I am sending off to Vanilla today. Vanilla has professed to being a bit of a fan of my ATCs *blush* and I thought she would really like these ones. They are one of a kind (most ATCs I make are one of many in sets) so they are particularly unique. I totally love these and would not part with them except they are going to a totally lovely lady who I know will love them like I do.

The stamps are by Hero Arts. I totally love this style of stamps (I have, er, one or two *blush again*) as they are perfect for ATCs. I have stamped them with Brilliant Blue ink (Stampin' Up!) and created layers my stamping again, cutting out and adhering with dimensionals. I have also added rub-ons from American Crafts, Kaiser bling and ultra-fine glitter.

This is the card they are being sent in to Vanilla. She also liked this card, so I thought it would be a nice touch to send the ATCs in it.
Hope you like them Vanilla!

Hope you have a happy day!!
