Its been a long time between drinks . . . .

Wow, its been a while since I have been on here {blushing}.

I have been very busy and also very lazy!! I am teaching several days a week in the community now, so that keeps me on my toes. I teach knitting and crochet on Wednesdays and cardmaking on Mondays and twice on Thursdays. Next year I have the opportunity to teach a couple more days a week too, and hopefully that will pan out!

Since I am here, I thought I would share with you some things I have been creating and teaching. I have been away from my blog since March, so there is a lot to put up here! I will put it up over several days.

Also, its CC weekend at Little Scrapbook Shop this weekend, so I will pop my challenge up after it has gone 'live' (but that is another post :) ).

I also have some news on the Stampin' Up! front, but that is also a rant for another time.

Enjoy the photos to follow. Drop me a line and say hi - I'd love to hear from you.

This is a card created using bleach. (sorry, the pic is quite blurry - will fix asap)

Products used: Stampin' Up! stamps, RST verse stamp, Cuttlebug, distressing tool

The following cards were created for Little Scrapbook Shop.
Click on the photo to go to the forum for a closer look and product details.

This layout was created using an Artist Trading Card as the inspiration.
The gorgeous young man in the photo is Angus, the son of a good friend of mine, Jenni.
For a closer look and to see the rest of the collection I made using the set of ATCs,
click on the photo and it will take you to the LSBS forums where you will find
all the information about products etc.

This gorgeous calendar is a little something I created while away at Little Scrapbook Shop Retreat in August 2009. I love dragons and loved these chipboard dragons I found in the shop!

Uniting in Work 12.10.08

Hi all,
Our classes for Term 4 have resumed at Uniting in Work. It was lovely to see all the ladies again, especially since I missed the last 3 weeks of term last term due to illness.

A couple of our regulars were missing (Joan, Henny and Tina) as they could not make it yesterday and Sonja joined us again this term (Sonja is usually with the Scrapbooking group). Jenni also started with us *waving*. Great to see your there Jenni!

For our class, we did two quick and easy Christmas cards. We will be doing a few Christmas themed cards this term. The ladies did a great job, as usual, and a few of them changed their cards a little (for the better, I think!)

Here are the cards the ladies madeAnd here they all are, holding their creations.
From left to right back row: (half of) Barb, Pat, Sonja and Heather
From left to right, bottom row: Kristel and JenniFrom left to right: Julie, Pam, Audrey and Barb
Thanks for stopping by today!

UIW Class Monday 1st September 2008

Hi everyone,
Today I am sharing the card my ladies made on Monday. With Fathers' Day this weekend, the ladies wanted a male card that could be adapted for any occasion.

This card is based on another tag shaped card I made a couple of years ago.
Don't forget you can click on the images for a larger view.

DetailRecipe:
Cardstock from SU!: Basic Black, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Really Rust
Copper eyelets (unknown)
Crop-a-dile
Copper sheeting (from Stampabit)
Copper Leafing pen (from Stampabit)
"Carte Postale" Stamp set (SU!)
Stylus (embossing tool) & foam mat
White Gel Pen (SU!)
Adhesives - tiny foam dots, double sided tape

Ooops forgot to tell you how to make it lol!
Cut a piece of folded A5 black cardstock to created a tag-shaped card
each of the subsequent layers were trimmed to this shape as well.
Trim a piece of copper sheeting to measure 6x6cm.
Stamp the image in the centre and heat set with a heat gun.
Using the stylus and foam mat, I traced around the stamped image, then turned it over and embossed it with an embossing tool (you can use a larger stylus for this too). I also added some texture to the outer frame.
I put tiny foam dots in each petal and in the centre of the flower and ordinary tape around the frame.
The eyelets were set with the cropadile.
I went around the edge of the black card and the first layer (Creamy Caramel) with the leafing pen.

Have a great day!

Romaya's Birthday Card

Hello bloggers!!
Today I am showing you the cute little card I made on Sunday for Emily, for her friend Romaya's
birthday.

Isn't she cute? I love this set, but this is the first card I have actually made from it. Loved the fun way it just came together.

Recipe: Pretty Princess stamp set (Stampin' Up!), Stazon Inkpad Jet Black, white cardstock, Bazzill cardstock (in 2 shades of pink), watercolour pencils & waterbrush, black gel pen (for the doodling). I love doodling, and that's why I think I really like this card.

Have a great day!!

More swap shares

Hello there bloggers!
Today I am sharing a couple more swaps I have completed for StampHappy, one of the yahoo groups that I am in (a fab group for stampers in Australia & New Zealand).

This first one is a card swap. The theme was "Punches" and you had to include stamping and at least one punch somewhere on the card.

The cute little mouse is a Penny Black stamp from the "Bubbly" acrylic stamp set and the "friend" is from "For a Friend" (SU Hostess set from the current Australian/New Zealand IB&C). The punches I used are both from Stampin' Up! - the Star and Large Star. The green cardstock is Wild Wasabi (Stampin' Up!) with generic textured blue and yellow. The Wild Wasabi was run through my cuttlebug with the Spots n Dots embossing folder. The bling is Flower bling by Kaiser and generic round rhinestones.

This one is for an ATC swap. The theme is "All About Me" and had to include stamping.

I used textured purple cardstock (my fave colour - can you tell? hehehe). The stamp is from "Critter Party" unmounted acrylic stamps set by Penny Black. Plenty of bling bling (of course lol). The font is "Girls are Weird". I printed off all the words, ran them through my Xyron Sticker maker, cut them all up and stuck them down.

Thanks for looking!

Have a great day!

More swap shares

Hello again!
I am back again, just like I promised!! Here are some more swaps completed in the last few days or so. Remember, you can click on the images for a larger view.

This is the pilot for the LSBS ATC Club Colour of Love swap.
The ones I ended up doing were a smidge different, but I accidentally
posted all 15 of them, instead of keeping one for me.
Lucky I found this one on my desk lol!
It was created using Stampin' Up! inks Elegant Eggplant and Rose Red, stamp from Heart Art Studios, mono adhesive and ultrafine glitter.

This card is for a swap on StampinUpOzStyle Yahoo group. It is a technique swap. There are lots of techniques used in this one, but I won't say what they are until after they are swapped out, in case any of the players happen to visit my blog - don't want to spoil the surprise for them.
It was created using ALL Stampin' Up! products: Stamps - Wild About You, Cute as a Bug; inks Night of Navy, Brocade Blue, Ballet blue, embossing powder and ultrafine glitter.

These ATCs are for a swap on Stamphappy Yahoo group. The them is "Feathered Friends", so anything to do with birds, nests, eggs, places you find birds etc.
Stamps are by Stampendous and Inkadinkadoo ("Birds Galore").
The inkpad is Purple Twilight (Adirondack).
There are tons of tiny little blings all on them,
but they don't photograph too well.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day!

The theme for this swap was open, so I have made some yummy purple cards (surprise surprise lol), using the Zindorf technique again. THe colours are Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Pale plum. The stamp is from one of Stamp-It's new Self Cling Sets (unmounted plates), this one from siset 010 (mostly butterflies).

Thanks again for stopping by.

Another card from stamp camp (a Michelle Zindorf inspired creation)

Howdy again!!

Here is another creation from stamp camp. I love Michelle Zindorf's brayer technique and wanted to have another go with my owl stamp. I was inspire by this card. I didn't turn it into an actual card, but have RAKed it to a friend who loves owls (RAK = Random Act of Kindness). Hope she likes it.

stamp is from Inkadinkadoo Clear stamps. The inks are Stampin' Up! (sorry can't remember all the colours - I used so many lol).

Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy the rest of your day/evening.

ATC Swap - Cute as a Button

Good morning!
I am just quickly posting a pic of the ATCs I made for the Little Scrapbook Shop ATC Club

These were made using "My Favourite Teddy", which is a retired Stampin' Up! set and one of my favourites. The word came from another SU set, "Warm Words." I stamped about 6 million teddies, coloured in all the bits, then cut the arm on the right and 2 of the legs on the right for each one. I cut the same arm and both legs of 16 stamped teddies, and pieced them all together. Then I stuck a teeny tiny button on the arm and leg of each one. (the short version is, they were paper pieced!).

I forgot to mention that I coloured them in using my Watercolour Wonder crayons and a waterbrush. I LOVE my Watercolour Wonders!!!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day!

Playing Catch Up!!

Good afternoon bloggers!
Ok, I remembered to take my camera to Uniting In Work today yay! So that meant I could play catch up to photograph the cards from the previous 2 classes as well as today. Only a few ladies brought their cards from the last 2 weeks, so here they are holding them up:
The ladies holding up their cards are, from left to right, Pam, Barb, Pat and Heather.

We made these cards using the "Time Well Spent" Level 3 hostess set from the current catelogue. I really like that set. These cards were made by creating the stamped backgrounds on red, white and black cardstock, then stamping the flower and butterfly images and layering them together. Lots of work, but lots of fun too.

Here is a closer look at the cards they made. Pat layered her card at home onto green cardstock and put a green rhinestone in the middle. Nice huh?

These cards were made with another Stampin' Up! set, called "Natural Beauty" and the verse is from a retired set "Warmest Regards". The flowers were stamped with Archival pigment inkpad Sepia and clear embossed. The ladies then coloured them in with markers and a waterbrush.

And here we are, holding the card from today's class. It is a folded pop up card with a diamond in the centre. I saw this demo'd on YouTube HERE and thought my ladies would enjoy it (they did!). From left to right are: Pam, Audrey, Barb, Pat, (me), Joan, Tina (a new lady) and Heather.

And here are all the fab cards together. We used some retired SU 12x12 papers for these in choc-chip/very vanilla. The card also uses Choc-chip and very vanilla cardstock. Stamps we used were from the sets "Carte Postale", "Boho Backgrounds" and "Warm Words". Punches are all SU too: Scallop punch, Word Window and 1 3/4" Circle.

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day,

Brayer Art inspired by Michelle Zindorf

Good morning everyone!!
Wow, I can't believe how long it's been since I last put a post up!!
I have been busy creating, but can't show you yet, because the things I have done are for LSBS and haven't been put up on the site yet.

However, I have been having a play with my new brayer. I am so totally inspired by Michelle Zindorf's art. Michelle is one of the most talented artists I have seen for a while, and I love her work.

This little card was going to be part of a swap on Stamphappy (yahoo group), but I have decided that these are not meant to be made en masse, so it is just a one-off. It is just not possible to re-create the same thing more than once (well, that's what i have found anyway).

So, thanks Michelle for the inspiration!!
(You can click on the picture for a larger view)

Here's what I used:
Stampin' Up! inkpads: Barely Banana, More Mustard, Rose Red, Night of Navy, Sky Blue, Old Olive; Versamark Watermark inkpad and Versamarker watermark pen, Brilliance Pigment ink Graphite Black; stamps: Priceless (SU!) and Grasses (Lucy's Stamps); Clear embossing powder.

Go and visit Michelle's blog for tons of inspiring tutorials!!

Have a great day!

Cards for Mum & Dad Part ii

Good Morning!!
It is cold and foggy outside today, but I am hoping it will be a lovely day.

Slide was playing nice today, so I have created the second slider as promised the other day.

I have also changed the other slider a little to make it a bit larger.

So, without further ado, here are the cards made for my parents using Stampin' Up! stamps and products. (There is also a Penny Black image or 2 in there).

Hope you have a great day!

Happy stamping!!

Hello on this glorious autumn day!!

It is a beautiful day here in Sydney today! Just gorgeous!

This photo is of my class (we were missing a couple of students and had one ring in lol). From left to right are: Barb, Heather, Pam, Joan, Julie, Pat, ME!, Audrey and Lina. (they insisted I be in the photo too!)

This photo is all their projects in one spot. We played with my Priceless set from SU

Stamps: Priceless (SU), So Swirly Stampin’ Around (SU)

Birdie Birthday Card

Hi All!!

Today I made a card for my DD's friend Georgia, who turns 8 tomorrow.
I used one of my new stamp sets, Tags & Words, by Heidi Grace - love these cute images!

(you can click on the photo for a larger image)

Here's how I made it: With Stazon Jet Black inkpad, stamped the birdie then stamped the flowers repeating across the bottom of the white cardstock. Stamped the square tag then stamped the sentiment in Tempting Turquoise (SU). Distressed the edges of the white cardstock and pick base card with Pixie Pink inkpad (SU). Coloured the images with Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise and Barely Banana inkpads, picking up the colour directly off the inkpads with my waterbrush. Traces around the edges of the stamped images with a light grey Tombow marker. Added Kaiser & generic rhinestones over the stamped tag and the flower centres. Painted some Glossy Accents (dimensional medium) over the birdie image then covered with ultrafine holographic glitter. Added some layered Prima flowers with a brad for the sun.

A fun, fast and cute card. Hope you enjoy!

oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGIA!!!

Last Monday class at home - back to UIW next week

Good afternoon blog hoppers!!

I have photos!! YAY! My Monday ladies graciously allowed me to take their photos with the fabulous cards they created today. Here is a photo of them with their cards. . .

From left to right are: Audrey, Joan, Sheila, Pam and Heather.

And these are their cards close up. We made moving teddies with the teddy from the retired "My Favourite Teddy" set from Stampin' Up! I love that set, and so do my ladies!

We also made a card I had demo'd the other night using the Baroque Motifs from the new catalogue, with Blue Bijou and Purely Pommegranate, two of the new 'In Colors' from Stampin' Up!

The following 2 cards are what the ladies made last week, but I forgot to photograph them then.

This card is made using the Cuttlebug, and embo0ssing folder and inks (Pumpkin Pie and Taken with Teal by Stampin' Up!). The background is done with a page of labels.

This card was made for the Little Scrapbook Shop April Cybercrop Sketch Challenge. The ladies really liked it, so that was the other card we made. The stamps used are by Autumn Leaves and Basic Grey, stazon jet black ink and blue Bazzill cardstock.

Have a great day!!
