Its been a long time between drinks . . . .

Wow, its been a while since I have been on here {blushing}.

I have been very busy and also very lazy!! I am teaching several days a week in the community now, so that keeps me on my toes. I teach knitting and crochet on Wednesdays and cardmaking on Mondays and twice on Thursdays. Next year I have the opportunity to teach a couple more days a week too, and hopefully that will pan out!

Since I am here, I thought I would share with you some things I have been creating and teaching. I have been away from my blog since March, so there is a lot to put up here! I will put it up over several days.

Also, its CC weekend at Little Scrapbook Shop this weekend, so I will pop my challenge up after it has gone 'live' (but that is another post :) ).

I also have some news on the Stampin' Up! front, but that is also a rant for another time.

Enjoy the photos to follow. Drop me a line and say hi - I'd love to hear from you.

This is a card created using bleach. (sorry, the pic is quite blurry - will fix asap)

Products used: Stampin' Up! stamps, RST verse stamp, Cuttlebug, distressing tool

The following cards were created for Little Scrapbook Shop.
Click on the photo to go to the forum for a closer look and product details.

This layout was created using an Artist Trading Card as the inspiration.
The gorgeous young man in the photo is Angus, the son of a good friend of mine, Jenni.
For a closer look and to see the rest of the collection I made using the set of ATCs,
click on the photo and it will take you to the LSBS forums where you will find
all the information about products etc.

This gorgeous calendar is a little something I created while away at Little Scrapbook Shop Retreat in August 2009. I love dragons and loved these chipboard dragons I found in the shop!

Uniting in Work 12.10.08

Hi all,
Our classes for Term 4 have resumed at Uniting in Work. It was lovely to see all the ladies again, especially since I missed the last 3 weeks of term last term due to illness.

A couple of our regulars were missing (Joan, Henny and Tina) as they could not make it yesterday and Sonja joined us again this term (Sonja is usually with the Scrapbooking group). Jenni also started with us *waving*. Great to see your there Jenni!

For our class, we did two quick and easy Christmas cards. We will be doing a few Christmas themed cards this term. The ladies did a great job, as usual, and a few of them changed their cards a little (for the better, I think!)

Here are the cards the ladies madeAnd here they all are, holding their creations.
From left to right back row: (half of) Barb, Pat, Sonja and Heather
From left to right, bottom row: Kristel and JenniFrom left to right: Julie, Pam, Audrey and Barb
Thanks for stopping by today!

UIW Class Monday 1st September 2008

Hi everyone,
Today I am sharing the card my ladies made on Monday. With Fathers' Day this weekend, the ladies wanted a male card that could be adapted for any occasion.

This card is based on another tag shaped card I made a couple of years ago.
Don't forget you can click on the images for a larger view.

DetailRecipe:
Cardstock from SU!: Basic Black, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Really Rust
Copper eyelets (unknown)
Crop-a-dile
Copper sheeting (from Stampabit)
Copper Leafing pen (from Stampabit)
"Carte Postale" Stamp set (SU!)
Stylus (embossing tool) & foam mat
White Gel Pen (SU!)
Adhesives - tiny foam dots, double sided tape

Ooops forgot to tell you how to make it lol!
Cut a piece of folded A5 black cardstock to created a tag-shaped card
each of the subsequent layers were trimmed to this shape as well.
Trim a piece of copper sheeting to measure 6x6cm.
Stamp the image in the centre and heat set with a heat gun.
Using the stylus and foam mat, I traced around the stamped image, then turned it over and embossed it with an embossing tool (you can use a larger stylus for this too). I also added some texture to the outer frame.
I put tiny foam dots in each petal and in the centre of the flower and ordinary tape around the frame.
The eyelets were set with the cropadile.
I went around the edge of the black card and the first layer (Creamy Caramel) with the leafing pen.

Have a great day!

Uniting In Work Class 18 August 08

Hi there bloggers!!

I just realised yesterday that I have missed uploading some pics of cards and things from the Uniting In Work classes! Silly me!!

So, the next few posts on my blog will be catch up posts for classes over the last few weeks.

I saw these darling sheep over on Patty Bennett's blog. Her friend made her this card using punches, and I loved it so much, I copied it to teach to my UIW class. They loved making the sheep. I gave them the choice of the pink card or the green card. They all looked so cute too.

The sentiment says "Wishing Ewe . . . " and then you have a multiple choice to choose from, 'a happy birthday', 'a speedy recovery', 'a wonderful holiday', 'a safe journey', or ' something else'. I printed these off my computer.

You can click on the images for a larger view.

Products used:
Punches by Stampin' Up! - scallop circle, word window, 1" circle
Punches by Franchville - small flower
EK Success - 1/2" circle punch
Pink & green cardstock
Patterned papers by Die Cuts With a View
("Nanna's Nursery" - baby girl paper stack)
wobbly eyes

Have a wonderful day.

UIW Class Monday 8th August 08

Howdy again!
I am posting some photos out of order, simply because I am too lazy to think this afternoon. :)

Today we made a card that I had published quite a while ago in Stamping & Papercraft magazine (now called Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft). I let the ladies all choose which coloured cardstock, patterned paper and ribbon they wanted, and the results are just fabulous!!!

Don't forget, you can click on any of the images for a larger view!

This is the original card:(Sorry about the image. I took a gazillion photos,
but it just would not come out crisp!)
To make the card, we used Geisha & flowers stamps (Stamp It), Ralph Waldo Emerson quote stamp (unknown), Stazon inkpad Jet Black, textured cardstock, Corner Punch (Heart) (EK Success), DCWV patterned papers (from the Glitter Stack and Pocket Full of Posies Stack) and ribbons from my stash. Oh, and bling, of course!!

And here are the wonderful cards that the ladies came up with:
Clockwise from top left, these ones were created by: Joan, Barb, Audrey & Heather.

Clockwise from top left, these ones were created by: Vivian, Kristel, Pat & Tina.

And here are all the lovely ladies, from left to right: Tina, Pat,
Kristel, Audrey, Joan, Me, Vivian (Vivian's carer Kerry) and Barb.

Kristel and Vivian are new to our Cardmaking group at Uniting in Work this term. Welcome ladies and thanks for joining our fantastic fun (and naughty) group. :) Hope you enjoy the term!! I know I will.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Happy Stamping!!

Holiday Class for UIW ladies

Hi there,

I am a bit late posting these photos. On Monday 14 July, one of my Monday ladies, Heather and her MIL Sheila, came to my place for a class.

The ladies had a play with the Zindorf Technique. To find out more about this terrific technique, pop over to Michelle Z's blog. You will be amazed!

This is the card they created (I didn't take a photo of the ladies' cards, as they were almost the same as mine :) )

They found this quite a challenge, so after lunch, they opted for some easy cards. So, easy it was. I grabbed some cards I had made very quickly some months back using a sketch from Little Scrapbook Shop's sketches gallery.

This is the original sketch:

And here are the lovely cards the ladies left with:

You ladies did a wonderful job and I love the cards you created!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

UIW Class Monday 16 June 2008

And hello once again! *grin*

Here is a photo of my Monday ladies with their creations from class this week. There aren't any photos from the last 2 weeks, as I was sick one week and last week was a public holiday so no class (as everyone had something on).

The card the ladies made was one from a set I designed for Little Scrapbook Shop using the June Monthly Card Kit.

Here are my lovely ladies holding up their creations. . . .

(sorry the pic's a bit blurry - I think the camera was set to macro *doh*)

Here is the card they made . . . .

And here are the other cards I designed with the kit.

Click on the picture to go to the LSBS Forums where you can find out all the product information.

Thanks again for stopping by.
Have a great day.

Playing Catch Up!!

Good afternoon bloggers!
Ok, I remembered to take my camera to Uniting In Work today yay! So that meant I could play catch up to photograph the cards from the previous 2 classes as well as today. Only a few ladies brought their cards from the last 2 weeks, so here they are holding them up:
The ladies holding up their cards are, from left to right, Pam, Barb, Pat and Heather.

We made these cards using the "Time Well Spent" Level 3 hostess set from the current catelogue. I really like that set. These cards were made by creating the stamped backgrounds on red, white and black cardstock, then stamping the flower and butterfly images and layering them together. Lots of work, but lots of fun too.

Here is a closer look at the cards they made. Pat layered her card at home onto green cardstock and put a green rhinestone in the middle. Nice huh?

These cards were made with another Stampin' Up! set, called "Natural Beauty" and the verse is from a retired set "Warmest Regards". The flowers were stamped with Archival pigment inkpad Sepia and clear embossed. The ladies then coloured them in with markers and a waterbrush.

And here we are, holding the card from today's class. It is a folded pop up card with a diamond in the centre. I saw this demo'd on YouTube HERE and thought my ladies would enjoy it (they did!). From left to right are: Pam, Audrey, Barb, Pat, (me), Joan, Tina (a new lady) and Heather.

And here are all the fab cards together. We used some retired SU 12x12 papers for these in choc-chip/very vanilla. The card also uses Choc-chip and very vanilla cardstock. Stamps we used were from the sets "Carte Postale", "Boho Backgrounds" and "Warm Words". Punches are all SU too: Scallop punch, Word Window and 1 3/4" Circle.

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day,

Scratch n Sniff!

Hello on this glorious autumn day!!

It is a beautiful day here in Sydney today! Just gorgeous!

Today's post is to show you my lovely Monday Cardmaking ladies from Uniting in Work (a charity run craft group run by the local Uniting Church).

This photo is of my class (we were missing a couple of students and had one ring in lol). From left to right are: Barb, Heather, Pam, Joan, Julie, Pat, ME!, Audrey and Lina. (they insisted I be in the photo too!)

This photo is all their projects in one spot. We played with my Priceless set from SU

Stamps: Priceless (SU), So Swirly Stampin’ Around (SU)
Inkpads: Versamark, Pumpkin Pie, Green Galore
Cardstock: white, orange

Last Monday class at home - back to UIW next week

Good afternoon blog hoppers!!

I have photos!! YAY! My Monday ladies graciously allowed me to take their photos with the fabulous cards they created today. Here is a photo of them with their cards. . .

From left to right are: Audrey, Joan, Sheila, Pam and Heather.

And these are their cards close up. We made moving teddies with the teddy from the retired "My Favourite Teddy" set from Stampin' Up! I love that set, and so do my ladies!

We also made a card I had demo'd the other night using the Baroque Motifs from the new catalogue, with Blue Bijou and Purely Pommegranate, two of the new 'In Colors' from Stampin' Up!

The following 2 cards are what the ladies made last week, but I forgot to photograph them then.

This card is made using the Cuttlebug, and embo0ssing folder and inks (Pumpkin Pie and Taken with Teal by Stampin' Up!). The background is done with a page of labels.

This card was made for the Little Scrapbook Shop April Cybercrop Sketch Challenge. The ladies really liked it, so that was the other card we made. The stamps used are by Autumn Leaves and Basic Grey, stazon jet black ink and blue Bazzill cardstock.

Have a great day!!
