Steam Train zooms thru our station

Last weekend, a special event was planned where an old fashioned steam train would leave from Central Station in Sydney and travel to the Zig Zag Railway in the Blue Mountains.

Seeing as all our children are train nuts, my hubby thought it would be a great idea to take the kids down to our local station to watch the train go through. I let my son take my camera with him so he could get a few shots as it went through.Unfortunately, the train went through the station faster than a Tangara, so DS only managed to get a few shots before the darned train was gone!!!!

Anyway, the shots he did get were really good (I edited them a little to get clearer/closer views) and here they are for your viewing pleasure. As always, you can click on the images for a larger image.
Here it comes . . . .
Same photo, edited and zoomed in to get a better shot of the trainHeading out again . . . Going, going . . . . .
Gone!!!
The kids loved watching the train go by - my youngest DD commented that there was even smoke coming out of the train (hehehe - the steam).

Bye again!!

New photo - what do you think?

Hello again folks!!

I took a photo of myself the other day in my funky new PURPLE glasses. I really like this photo of me, even though I am not wearing any make-up. I have put it on the blog on the left there.

Let me know what you think.

Lots of Catching up to do!!!

Hello Bloggers!!!
Well, its been a busy week at my house with DH and DS both sick with Pharyngitis (DH is still sick in bed and its been 5 days).
I have had my hair cut again (yep, since that last post last week) and I have updated my profile with the new self portrait. No, I am not holding my finger in a socket lol, just looking up at the camera. Had more curls cut off the bottom and its now a more funky modern look and much more my style. (You can click on the image for a larger view if you really want to hehehe!)

I didnt get a photo at class last week of the card we made, but it will be up very soon, as it was a card for a swap I am in on StampinUpOzStyle yahoo group (there will be a new post for this).

Today's class was great fun, and I taught the ladies a card I had published in Stamping & Papercraft (now called Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft) quite a while ago. I will put a new post up for that one too.

This weekend I am off for a lovely scrapping retreat out at Kurrajong, just me and more than 40 other ladies. WOohoo, should be great fun. I am looking forward to that so much.

In the meantime, I will be popping up the posts for last weeks card&swap, this weeks card class and a little card I made yesterday for one of my DD's for a friend's birthday.

Hope you all have a lovely rest of the day.

Driving around in cars

Good Morning!!

Well, my day started off just dandy this morning (apart from the usual before-school whining that is lol).

Was taking DD Mad to the docs for a wasp sting on her foot that does not look very good. (doc says its ok, she is having an allergic reaction). On the way, a young person (can you guess if she was a "P" plater?) pulled out in front of me from a side street! *crash*. So, we had an accident. Mad was a bit shaken and hurt her tummy (doc says all is well, the seat belt did no apparent damage), but not nearly as distraught as the driver of the other car - poor thing, she was practically beside herself she was so upset. I was shaken too, first prang in about 9 years!!

Here's a coupla pics:

The car is still drivable, but I have to get in and out via the passenger door cos the front right panel has been pushed back and blocks the driver door from opening. Mad thinks this is a huge source of entertainment!! Thanks honey, I love you too!!!

Car is all booked in with the insurers for an assessment on Saturday, and we have optional hire car cover thank goodness - I sooo cannot be without a car, as I drive the kids to/from school (too far for walking - over 4kms away) and i have classes etc, so transport is a must!!

Here's hoping we won't be without our car for too long.

Hope your day is going a bit better than mine lol!!

Have a great day!!

We got the Pox!!

Well, I have sooo not been interested in blogging (or much else lately actually). We are into week 3 or chicken pox in our house. Maddie had it first and had 3 weeks off school (we are now in the holdidays - 2 more weeks. Oh. Joy.)

Then, on Wednesday, Zac and Emily came down with it. Zac was hit pretty bad in the first 2 days with spots and high temps. Em just had one or 2 spots and we thought she would get off lightly.

Silly Us.

Emily is so sick poor thing. Her whole face is just covered in spots and they are all around her
eyes, nose and mouth. They also cover her scalp and her torso (back and front). She is worse hit than Zac, who has them pretty bad too. (Luckily, he has escaped to the grandparents for a week, so he can get lots of rest and quiet, so hopefully he'll recover fast).

Today I went to pick up my order from Cath at Little Scrapbook Shop and Cath, the big softie, gave me a HUGE bear for Emily (and Mad). These are the photos I took - the bear is as big, if not bigger, than Emily!!

Thanks Cath - it cheered Emily up so much!!!

NOW I think I have fixed the uploading a picture problem. YAY For me the techno bimbo!!

Edited to add: I fixed it all on my own. Didn't get any help. Just did some reading over in the Ad Muncher site and figured it out on my own!
